Quiet. I like quiet. These landscapes are quiet to me.
Lately, I have been a little obsessed with skies and horizon lines.
My latest work is mostly watercolor paint – which is different for me. I love oil pastels and other paints but for some reason I’m really enjoying watercolors and seeing what they do. It’s good because I like working on a few paintings or drawings at the same time. With watercolor paint I can add a color and walk away, come back later and see what it did.
I prefer being outdoors more than indoors all times of year and all types of weather. I love painting what I see. Upper park, Lassen park or photos from a road trip. I take way too many pictures – come home – weed through them and start drawing and or painting. Then I repeat the process!
Chico has been my home for over 30 years – I received all my Art degrees here and I teach art at PV high.
